Zini Ran Review
By Carnal Queen.
I was thrilled when Meo sent me the Zini Ran in a review parcel, because I’ve never tried a Zini product before, and I’m always up for trying something new (within reason!), so thanks Meo!
The Ran is packaged in a good, sturdy, keepsake box, and from the outset, it feels like you’ve got a good quality product. Inside the box is your Ran, a charger, some instructions and a lovely, printed, carbon-fibre effect storage bag. As with every toy I receive, the first job is to get it charged up fully, it’s never fun to get a flat battery in the middle of a fun session. Imagine the frustration if the Ran, ran out! This is when I discovered that the Zini Ran turns a multitude of colours around the buttons! I’m a bit of a kid when it comes to stuff like that, I love light, so I liked this feature a lot. It has a practical function too, the colour denotes either the charging status, or how much charge you have left. If it’s blinking red, your Zini’s dead! Then it goes through solid colours, red, orange, yellow, light green, green and blue. In use, it throws a couple of extra colours into the mix, like purple! I know, not everybody will like a disco vibe, so in use, you can turn the lights off if you’d prefer.
I really like the look and feel of the Ran. It’s made from silicone and ABS plastic, so it’s completely body-safe, and it’s a nice shape. It’s only 165g, so it’s good if your hands often become tired holding a heavier toy. The only thing I wasn’t sure about straight away, was the gold plastic trim around the button end. It’s a bit tacky in my opinion, and I don’t like the harsh line between that and the silicone. The Ran is apparently waterproof, and I have tried it underwater with no negative effects so far, but this join and the charging port do make me wonder about it’s lasting waterproofness!
Having 5 speeds and 15 program modes as well as a random pulsation setting, the Ran has a quite a lot of options when it comes to using it. I’d class it as a mid-power range vibrator – across the settings, it’s a bit buzzy with a level of rumble to it too. I’m a power queen, and this can absolutely get me off when used for clitoral stimulation, but it’s not as powerful as I’d like. The vibrations are quite surface level, they don’t resonate very deeply, but they’re not numbing or annoying, as buzzy vibrations often are for me, although you do get a bit of vibration travel through into your hands. Used internally, I really am a fan of the shape. It’s much slimmer and less bulbous than many G-spot focused toys, only being about 4 inches in circumference at the widest point, but it hits the spot really well. It has a definite ridge and a slight point, which makes it different to the norm, and rubbing it and thrusting it across my G-spot causes no discomfort, just pleasure. As with the clitoral stimulation though, I just wish there was a bit more power to compliment the great shape, it just feels a little bit lacking to me. That said, if you’re not a power queen, and you like a toy that can be used for G-spot and clitoral stimulation, I think the Ran might be a good fit for you.
I also like that the Zini Ran has a travel lock. It seems a simple thing, but if you want to travel with your vibrator, a lock is invaluable to stop things accidentally turning on in awkward situations! Simply pushing the minus button first, and adding a plus button press for two seconds, whips the travel lock into shape, and also deactivates it. The button facia’s design isn’t lost on me either, it’s a very feminine shape, but because my nails are quite long, the buttons can be a bit fiddly to press. You know when you’ve successfully pressed them though, and not just because the vibrations change either, the buttons have a very solid click to them! The vibrator isn’t whisper quiet, but it can’t be heard through closed doors, so I would imagine it’s discreet enough for most people’s needs.
I’m fairly impressed with the Zini Ran. It’s most suited towards women who prefer mid-range vibrations and slimmer toys. For me, the Ran sits at the lower end of the luxury market, which translates well with it’s price. It’s also fantastic if you have a penchant for bright flashing lights!
Meo very kindly sent me the Zini Ran for free, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This in now way alters my thoughts or experiences. If you’d like to buy your own vibrant vibrator, you can do so here. Affiliate links have been used in this post.
