Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo Review
By Carnal Queen.
I’ll be honest with you, whilst the Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo did catch my eye and intrigue me, it was CK that really wanted to try it out. I kinda knew what it was about, but my lack of the appropriate ‘equipment’ meant I never really bothered looking into it properly … bad CQ! There’s my first New Year’s resolution right there, pay attention and don’t make assumptions!
The award winning Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo is stylishly packaged in a gold and black box, with a Union Jack printed on the back and the Duo on the front. It comes with a USB charging cable and a neat little branded storage bag, to keep your toy safe and dust free. I like that it’s branded, when you’ve lots of sex toys, marked bags help you find what you’re looking for, quickly and easily. With 9 speeds and 5 different patterns on the main form of stimulation, 1 being a constant vibration and 4 pre-programmed patterns, there’s plenty of choice. The separate, remotely controlled vibrating motor on the underside of the Pulse has 3 intensity levels. Both types of stimulation are easily controlled during use, the remote control has a simple push button to navigate through the vibrations, and the main body of the Pulse is controlled by 3, on-board buttons. The plus and minus on one side, to control the speed settings, and a single button on the opposite side, to power the unit on and off with longer presses, or to cycle through the patterns with quick presses.
It’s immediately apparent that this toy is something a little bit different. Dubbed the ‘Guybrator’, the Pulse II Duo offers you multiple ways of using it, giving you total versatility. The main toy and the remote control are both covered in sleek, grey, body safe silicone, and are totally waterproof, allowing you to use them in the bath or shower, and for super easy cleaning after use. Where the Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo differs from other male orientated toys and the Hot Octopuss Pulse Solo, is the dual stimulation it delivers, allowing the man to stimulate a partner, along with himself. Utilising unique PulsePlate technology to apply high amplitude oscillations to the frenulum, the Pulse stimulates a mans penis in a truly revolutionary way. Add in the vibrations for the pleasure of your partner, and this little sex toy becomes something in a league of it’s own.
One of the very unique selling points of the Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo, is that it can be used on a penis which is not erect. Now, that seems such a simple idea, a toy which can help you achieve an erection, because you can begin using it whilst soft, but try finding a toy out there that offers that ability, you’re not going to find many! Sure you can use a vibrator, but a penetrable type toy, no. This makes it a fantastic toy for anybody suffering with erectile dysfunction, in fact I’d say it’s potentially a total game-changer. Without lube, it can be used as a static stimulator, by just letting it sit in place and do it’s work. With lube, it turns into a great male masturbator, working in a similar way to other strokers. The combination of the PulsePlate stimulation, and the natural grip of the ‘wings’, makes for a fantastic experience, CK certainly enjoys it!
So, this toy is great for the guys in our opinion, but it’s a Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo, right? So what can it do for me? Can it really enhance couples play? Well, I have to be honest and say that initially, after having a little play, I didn’t expect it to do much for me. The vibrations aren’t too spectacular in terms of strength, and they’re not at all pinpoint, so I thought it would disappoint me. I was wrong! After placing it around CK, it was just a case of experimenting to find the ideal position for both of us to enjoy the vibrations and a new kind of hands-free foreplay. We found that missionary worked really well for us, allowing us both to reach orgasm, which surprised me. It’s a very unique, and initially bizarre feeling, because you’re in a sex position but you’re not actually having penetrative sex. It worked extremely well when CK stayed still, and I thrust my hips up against him, rubbing the vibrating motor up and down my clit. It’s not an immediate “Oh wow, that feels fantastic” but instead, it’s a slow and more sensual build up, like actual lovemaking would be.
This got me thinking … As mentioned before, this toy would be awesome for men who are not able to achieve penetration, but for me, this also makes a great ‘period’ toy. Now, bear with me here! I generally don’t have to worry about periods too often, because of my contraception method, but when I did have regular bleeds, it wasn’t unusual for me to turn into a complete horn-ball! Not everyone likes or wants to have sex at that time, but they still want the intimacy, and here it is! Yes, you can play with clit vibes, or give blow-jobs and hand jobs, but they all feel a little bit ‘separate’. The Hot Octopuss Pulse II Duo gives you an intimacy that hadn’t even really occurred to me until I experienced it. You get to feel like you’re making love, you can kiss, fondle and caress, in a natural lovemaking position, with mutual stimulation, without the mess! WINNER! Honestly, I’d of given my left arm for one of these when period days scuppered my sexy plans! (Not my right one though, that’s my wanking arm 😉
We found girl-on-top to be not quite as effective, because I’m a useless thruster and it kept moving out of place, but that’s my fault, not the toys! When it comes to cleaning the Pulse, it couldn’t be simpler – a little spritz of your favourite sex toy cleaner and a wash under a hot tap and your toy is ready to go again, probably long before you are!
In summary this is a great all round toy for either solo or couple play with plenty of fun to be had, which is only limited by your imagination. So what are you waiting for? We’ve had the man-bag, and the guy-liner, so why not go and get yourself a Guybrator!
This product was sent to me free of charge, from the very lovely people at Shop-Naughty, for an honest and unbiased review, so huge thanks to them.
