Cute Coco Vibrator Review
By Carnal Queen.
I’ve been on the hunt for a while, for good quality, totally body-safe sex toys on a budget, so I was stoked when Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium asked me if I’d like to review the Cute Coco Massager Vibrator for them. Not everyone can drop mega bucks on products from the higher end of the market, and sadly, the lower end of the market still offers a lot of porous, potentially toxic, and not totally body-safe shite. Thankfully that doesn’t happen at Sh! though. It’s a sex toy shop for women, run by women, and they’re on a mission to provide their customers with great customer service and fabulous products. I like their way of thinking! Everything from Sh! arrives wrapped in tissue paper too, it’s a lovely, personal touch. So how would the Cute Coco vibe fare?
It ticks a lot of boxes from the outset. Affordable, discreet, 10 settings, reasonably quiet, and it’s made from silicone and ABS plastic, so it’s totally body safe and I’m completely happy to have it hanging out around my vulva! It’s also USB rechargeable, which is really handy these days as most people have a USB socket or adaptor, and the little magnetic desk charger you get with the Cute Coco is a really convenient way to charge it. It makes a really good, solid connection too, so you know it’ll stay safely in place until you move it, unlike some magnetic chargers … I’m looking at you We-Vibe Tango!
Cute Coco is exactly that, cute! It reminds me of the little MSN icon that you used to get on messenger. It comes in purple, blue and pink silicone finishes, and they all have white plastic bottoms. I really love the shape of Cute Coco. It’s a discreet design, so it will likely not even raise an eyebrow if someone spots it sitting on your desk, but it’s also pretty practical too. The larger base gives you really good purchase when you’re holding it, especially when you’re all lubed up and ready to go. It’s comfortable in the hand, and would be easier to hold for anyone with dexterity issues, compared to a tradition clitoral bullet vibe. The head has a lot of flex to it, and a certain amount of squish, so applying pressure with the Cute Coco should be absolutely fine and comfortable. As it’s silicone, only use water based lube with Cute Coco!
There’s a little bit of confusion over whether this toy is a water baby or not. The simple, understated packaging says ‘splash-proof’, and the little instruction leaflet says ‘100% waterproof’, but elsewhere on the outer tube it says ‘do not immerse in water’. No I’m my mind, and the general consensus with sex toys is, there’s three status’ when it comes to water rating – Not at all waterproof, splash-proof, and waterproof. Waterproof toys are submergeable, and manufacturers will often tell you to what depth. Cute Coco is only splash-proof, so you won’t be having any bath time fun with this little cutie *sad face*
So is it all shaping up to be a big thumbs up for Cute Coco then? Sadly, not for me. As much as I wanted to fall in love with this cute little vibe, it just wasn’t meant to be. It’s a clitoral vibe which sadly gives me zero clitoral orgasms. Any orgasms for that matter! It gets me going, builds my expectations, then leaves me disappointed and flat – sounds like my ex!
The problem for me is the vibrations, they’re just not powerful enough, or of the right frequency to work with my body. I like deeply penetrating, rumbly vibrations, and Cute Coco has buzzy, surface level vibrations in abundance, and they just make my clitoris itch, then go numb. I had high hopes for the head of the toy, I’d hoped I could push it between my labia into myself, and send vibrations pulsing through my whole vulva … nope. The vibrations don’t carry too well down the neck and body of the toy, so I was wasting my time with that notion.
I’m also not a fan of how the vibration settings are laid out on Cute Coco. I generally prefer constant vibrations over patterns, and this only has one constant, and it’s in position 4 on the scale. That’s just … odd to me.
If you prefer more gentler vibrations, that are of a higher frequency to tickle just the surface, Cute Coco may tick those extra boxes, that for me it lacks. A love of patterns would also be beneficial! For me though, it just doesn’t have enough oomph or grunt to make my clit happy. It seems that ‘cute’ just doesn’t get me off!
Pros
Discreet
Made from body-safe materials
Good to hold if you have dexterity issues
Cons
Lacks power
Buzz vibrations
Only one constant speed
