ElectraStim Wave Dildo Review
By Carnal Queen.
Some of my favourite reviews to write have been for ElectraStim, and this review for the Wave Dildo will probably be no exception. They’re fun to do, because I have to sit here and think about all of the awesome times I’ve had using the product, and that always brings happy memories. ElectraStim never fails to bring a smile to my lips, and a tingle to my hips, and they’ve really firmly lodged themselves as a brand that I adore. Quality UK manufacturing, that’s obvious from the moment you unbox your new delight, instantly puts you at ease … you know your delicate parts are going to be well looked after with ElectraStim.
I’ve lusted after this dildo since I first saw it shining down on me from at display at the ETO in 2015. Although I had yet to begin my ElectraStim journey at that point in time, aesthetically it screamed at me, and I knew I wanted it. It’s beautiful. The undulating curves that are polished to perfection look divine, and so when ElectraStim offered to send me a unit for review, I was delighted and extremely excited. As always, huge thanks guys!
I love the anticipation and build-up when I’m about to start using a new e-stim toy. I know it won’t hurt, I know I’ll probably love it, and yet I still get a little nervous and apprehensive. That tiny bit of fear seems to heighten my senses, and I lie there bracing myself for what’s to come. No other kind of toy gives me this feeling, and I wouldn’t change it for all the tea in China. I love it!
To power the Wave, you’re going to need a separate control unit. I use the Flick EM60-E, and it works perfectly. I know some people dislike having to buy a separate unit, but I personally love the ElectraStim concept, because your collection will grow with you, and you can add items to your kit as your experience and desire grows. This means you can spread the cost, and be every bit as excited to receive your 20th piece of kit, as you were your 1st. For me it’s a no-brainer.
Our kit is expanding nicely, but this is the first dildo I have from the range. I was really excited about this, as my only other experience of electro-stimulation internally, passing through my full vulva and out, is the Mystim Sizzling Simon, so I was eager to find out how comparable they were. It always amazes me how different a sensation each product can give you. The Lula balls are fantastic, but I just knew that the Wave would be totally different when it comes to sensations, and I wasn’t wrong.
The Wave is a bi-polar ElectraStim product, and it’s made from marine grade aluminium, with an acrylic isolating strip that goes around its entirety. Seven rubber rings sit at the base, to make sure the electro-stimulation is felt where it should be, and not in your hands. Nobody wants zappy fingers! It’s just over 7 inches in length, with 5.5 of those being insertable, and its modest 3.5 inch circumference makes it suitable for all levels of player, you don’t even need to turn the tingles on if you don’t want to!
In fact, just used as a stand alone dildo, the Wave is actually pretty awesome. Although I generally go for girthier toys, the symmetrical, evenly spaced waves make for a really amazing ‘ribbed’ feeling, and because it’s so smooth, with the tiniest amount of lube, it glides in and out of my vagina effortlessly. I was genuinely amazed by how much I enjoy using it without electro-stimulation, so it’s certainly not just for lovers of slimmer toys. The coolness is delicious, I really do love metal sex toys!
The first time I tried the Wave with the Flick EM60-E, I have to be honest and say how disappointed I was. Lubed up to the nines, and lying there tentatively whilst CK was clicking up the power scale on the controller, I awaited the first tingles. One light, two lights, three lights, four … nothing. I was cautious, I knew there was enough lube, but I couldn’t feel anything. If this suddenly kicked in, I knew I was gonna jump and probably go through the ceiling. Where was my stimulation? It’s metal, I expected it to be super-duper conductive and to have my bits zapped up nicely. I ended up removing the Wave dildo from inside me, and using it on my hands to check it was working.
It was working, the muscles in my little finger started bouncing away in agreement. I was using my beloved Sliquid, the lube I usually use with everything, but maybe it wasn’t quite right for the Wave dildo. We tried another lube, and still, no sensations on the first few lights. I knew I was just going to have to go for it, and deal with any knee-jerk reactions if my vagina decided to wake up. It’s worth saying here, with all of my ElectraStim products, I top out at around halfway on the power scale. Anything beyond that tends to get too prickly for my liking. I was about to push the Wave to halfway and beyond.
One light past halfway, and I thought I felt something. Did I feel something? Was I imagining it or just willing it to be real? Ooh, there it was again. Nothing earth moving, but a tiny little flutter that told me I wasn’t completely broken. CK pushed on with every consenting nod of my head, another click, and another. Each time, the sensation increasing slightly. We tried different patterns, some I could feel more than others, so we stuck with a throbbing pattern to allow me to feel everything as much as possible. Click … click … click … flutter … tingle … pulse … throb. CK stood laughing, which I couldn’t really fathom as I lay there, half confused, half aroused, as my vulva pulsed gently in time with the e-stim pattern …
“Congratulations, you’ve conquered the Flick”
“What?! No way .. show me”
As sure as eggs are eggs, all of the little lights sat blazing away. I was on the highest setting. It felt nice, it was pleasurable, but I wanted more, and there was nowhere left to go. This big shiny metal dildo that I thought would be a Wave as ferocious as that of a stormy sea, was more like a gentle ebb and flow passing across the sand. The more I’ve used the Wave, the more I’ve questioned why it doesn’t get my vulva rocking out like the Sizzling Simon does. The only thing I can think of is that because of the undulations of the surface, less area is in contact with my vaginal walls. Simon is straight sided, and so it touches every part of me. I’ve tried clamping down my PC muscles, sometimes so hard that my whole body is shaking, but it doesn’t actually help me to feel any more of an electrical tingle, which I’m a little bit sad about.
The Wave Dildo is a beautiful toy, and knowing what I know now, I’d have no hesitation in recommending it to a beginner in electro-stimulation. It’s a gentle start, which goes up to a sensation which is moderate at most. It’s not scary or harsh, for me anyway, but it is a beautiful metal dildo that feels amazing on its own, that can be turned into a sensual tingle stick, whenever the mood takes me.
