Are you new to the world of BDSM? Does spanking intrigue you? Are you looking to find your first toy for impact play? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, if I were you I’d look elsewhere! That’s because the amazingly awesome Pelt by Tantus may hoodwink you into believing it’s beginner friendly, with its simple lines and fuss free attitude, but it can be unashamedly brutal, it’s not for the faint-hearted, and I bloody love it!

Made from Tantus’ famous 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone, the Pelt is a thing of real beauty. Yeah, I’m sure some people will look at it and think it looks a bit dull or boring, but it’s the stunning black simplicity of it that makes my heart race with anticipation. It kind of reminds me of the sole of a shoe, not a sexy shoe, but a shoe non the less! The silicone is lusciously soft and malleable, and the head of the paddle can easily be bent back to touch the handle. It has a hole to enable hanging, which I personally love, and a very simple raised Tantus logo at the base of the handle. For a hitty thing, it’s a nice compact size of 11.6 inches by 3.25 inches and it feels nice and balanced in the hand, you just have to be hitting shit with it. I love how it looks almost industrial, there’s nothing girly or pretty about the Pelt! Whenever I’m holding it, you can be sure that I’ll be slapping my opposing hand across the palm, despite the pain it causes – maybe that’s the sadist in me?

Tantus have hit the nail on the head with the names of all of their silicone paddles. I love the use of the descriptive verbs that get my mind whirring and thinking about how the paddle will feel as it makes contact with flesh … delicious! Just say it … Pelt … PELT … it sounds exciting, you want it, you NEED it! It’s the attention to detail when you buy into Tantus, it feels like you’re really getting something special, the whole package, I really like that. Being made from their incredibly high grade silicone, this thing is so easy to care for, the only thing that would make it easier is if it got up and cleaned itself! Boil it, bleach it, whack it in the dishwasher, or just use plain old soap and water, it doesn’t care, this silicone takes it all, and then some!

Well I suppose you want to know how this thing feels don’t you? Well t’is true, it can be overwhelming, daunting, and intimidating, but ultimately it’s mind-blowing, breathtaking, impressive, and generally FUCKING AWESOME! If you don’t like pain, step away from the Pelt! If you don’t have total trust in your paddle wielding partner, step away from the Pelt! Don’t want to see or feel those delectable red marks on your backside? Yeah you got it, step away from the Pelt! On the flip side, if you love pain, trust your Master and yearn to be left marked and sore, then bend over, expose those beautiful ass cheeks, take a deep breath and get yourself acquainted with the exquisite Tantus Pelt …

You’re going to want to warm up before you jump straight in with this paddle, else you risk being left cowering and scared in the corner. Now obviously, to some extent I’m joking a little there, but seriously, this thing is capable of inflicting serious pain with minimal effort, a flick of the wrist can deliver the most blood curdling sting, so be warned! You’ve got to respect the Pelt, only then will you go on to enjoy a beautiful friendship together. Hitting skin with the broad flat surface produces a very hard thwack, not dissimilar to hand spanking (but with far less effort from the Master). Catching someone with more of the front edge, where the paddle becomes slightly more flexible, makes for a more slap like sting – either way, they both fucking hurt! It’s very easy to think that you’re delivering a gentle blow, when in fact, you’re causing the receiver to bite the pillows and seriously consider yelling the safe word – It’s for this reason that I genuinely wouldn’t recommend the Pelt as a first impact toy, it’s too intense. Sure, you can gently rub the silicone against the skin, which feels lovely, but for hitty stuff, you’ve got to understand what this beauty is capable of.

If you’ve dabbled in spanking before, and if you want to take it to the next level, then buy silicone! It doesn’t even have to be the Pelt, Tantus do a range of silicone paddles (I might just be putting another through it’s paces now, review coming soon) so browse and pick whichever catches your eye, but honestly, you NEED silicone. Hands down, this is the most intense form of impact toy that we’ve tried, and we love it. Do you think I’d get away with carrying the Pelt with me all of the time? If I ever got into a fight, I might appear like a stereotypical girl, flailing around making slapping noises, but I’m telling you, I’d win! Come here, let me put you in your place with my Pelt …
