Womanizer W500 Pro Review
By Carnal Queen.
In October 2014, a sex toy entered my life that would change my masturbatory habits forever. Pretty bold statement, huh? The Womanizer W100 was unlike anything I’d seen before, and when Lovehoney UK sent it to me to test, as part of their tester programme, I was initially very underwhelmed by the pink monstrosity that lay before me. It was new, nobody had seen it or heard of it before. It looked naff, it sounded naff, and on my hand it felt naff. I started regretting my enthusiasm to test this new clitoral stimulator, and I honestly thought I’d hate it.
Regulars to my blog know that I didn’t hate it, quite the opposite in fact. In November 2014 my review was published on Lovehoney, and it was one of the first toys that made it onto my blog at the beginning of 2015. It became my go-to toy, and up until recently, it stayed that way. If I wanted a quick and guaranteed orgasm, out came the Womanizer W100, and within seconds I was lying there satisfied and happy. I learned quickly how it worked best for me. I literally whacked it up to the top setting and let it work its magic. I wondered if it would get the boot from Lovehoney’s stockroom, because I feared the price tag would put people off, and that they wouldn’t be willing to take a gamble on this new toy. Thankfully, word spread and people did take a chance. They hated the style, they despised the name, but still its success snowballed. It became huge last year, quite the phenomenon.
The excitement I felt about testing and reviewing the Womanizer W500 Pro was extreme. It also filled me with a feeling of unshakable dread. My W100 was on a pedestal – what if the newer model disappointed me? How could it get any better for me, when it already felt perfect? I kind of felt like I was setting myself up for disappointment, but still I had to try it. I needed to. So what’s changed? The name is still the same thought provoking smack in the face that it always was. I understand that though, it’s got a reputation now, and re-branding isn’t necessary. Anyway, a name doesn’t get me off, so as much as I’m not fond of it, I can forgive it that sin.
The styling of the W500 Pro is very different. Gone is the elongated body of the W100, in favour of a shorter, more rounded shape. The colour ways are much more appealing now, and I’m utterly in love with my cute skully design. The buttons have a new home on the back of the toy, and there’s an additional minus button now too, so no more having to go back to the first setting and cycle up if you get a bit too carried away. They feel like they’re in the right place now. They were a little awkward to access before, and when I orgasmed I liked to knock it back down to the first speed and let my body ride the wave of climax without being overstimulated – it was sometimes hard to hit the button to do that. Not with the W500, the buttons now are perfectly in reach. I almost feel like I’m holding an instrument in my hand, because my fingers just fall into place perfectly.
The crystal has become a little more modest and understated. Big bling has gone, and in its place, a smaller more discreet one. It’s now the on/off and back to setting one button, and the larger rocker button is your plus and minus. Six speeds has been scrapped in favour of eight, a new lower speed, and a new higher speed too. The treatment heads are still silicone, and removable, and although you still get a spare, it’s now a different size. One smaller opening for more intense stimulation, and a larger one to cover a broader area.
The only negative point so far is that the W500 doesn’t come in the fabulous hard case that the W100 did. For me this is a real shame. In its place, is a black branded satin storage bag. It’s great that you still get some form of storage, but I’m sad it’s not as it was. That hard case kept my heads and charging cable and toy all neatly stored together. Womanizer did kindly send me a lovely cosmetic style bag as an additional gift, along with some spare treatment heads and some lube, but these don’t come as standard.
It’s all sounding pretty good up to now, isn’t it? And here’s possibly where you’re expecting me to drop a huge ‘but’ into the mix, and regale you with tales of the W500’s failings. I’m not going to, because for me it has none. It’s still fucking awesome, in fact, I’d go as far as to say it’s even MORE awesome than the first model. I’m so stupidly delighted by that, I really am! The toy I thought I couldn’t possibly love any more has excelled itself. Yay!
I’ve kind of had to retrain my body a little bit with the W500. My technique for orgasm with the W100 was a little too intense when I tried it that way with the W500. I felt like I was sucking my clit from my body as I orgasmed hard. The top level for me is a touch too powerful. Yes, I know, hold the front page … Carnal Queen, self confessed power queen and top speed Tess has found something that’s too much for her! I didn’t quite believe it at first either.
Although it’s only speeds one and eight that are supposedly different, all of them feel more intense. I’m more than happy at around levels five or six with the W500. The sensations are the same – a sublime suction, a chugging feeling which presents itself as more of a pulse on my clit, not really vibration – but they just feel more intense. I used to go hard and fast with the W100, but I’m enjoying a more leisurely session with the W500. By leisurely, I mean 60-120 seconds mostly, not the 30 second pleasure party I was accustomed to previously. I like teasing myself, and often find myself dipping my hips down slightly to break the seal it’s formed across my sweet spot. When I orgasm, I still enjoy knocking it down to its first speed, to allow my orgasm to ride out fully. It sounds the same as the W100, a low rumbly chug that gets quieter when you place it against you. The battery is still crazily impressive too – this beauty won’t be on charge very often.
The Womanizer W500 has now replaced the W100 as my after-sex-saviour. CK is a hard task master when it comes to orgasms, he rips them from me until I’m shagged into a useless heap of skin and bone in the corner. Never satisfied with one, or two, or three, he keeps going until I’m begging for mercy. Clitoral orgasms often come first, and more than once, but even during hard and fast penetration that has my G-Spot bowing at his metaphorical feet, my clit gets teased and tormented. Ever had an almost uncomfortable throb that won’t subside? That’s me after being fucked into oblivion. I’m often left with a clit that feels like a cartoon character that’s been whacked over the head with a hammer – I ache, I hurt, but it wants one last clitoral orgasm to ease the throbbing that’s built back up. I’m too tired and exhausted. Besides, I know if I ask CK to sort me out again, he’ll be turned on and raring to go again because of it … I just can’t. The Womanizer sorts this problem out for me. In just a few seconds that throb is turned into an orgasm which spreads into a warmth and lovely settled feeling, and I can enjoy the post-fuck cuddles without the bass drum being beaten on my swollen lady parts. If I only used it for this, it would be worth its weight in gold.
I’m besotted with it. I love it, and I’m so happy that this new and improved model is indeed improved, and didn’t let me down. If I had to criticise, I’d say the crystal button doesn’t feel like it’s being pressed, and I’d prefer something that felt definite. Other than that, I’m as happy as a pig in shit! If I could only keep one sex toy (what a fucked up world that would be!), it would be this one, hands down. Hands off too, it’s mine!
Womanizer very kindly sent me the W500 to test and review, for free, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This in no way alters my thoughts or experiences. Huge thanks to them!
