Tantus Splash Review
By Carnal Queen.
I always knew I wanted to own the Splash, I’ve no idea why, but it has appealed to me ever since I first laid eyes on it, many moons ago. The look of liquid silicone, almost molten in appearance, just called out to me, and when I saw pictures of a Grab Bag pour, in the most divine Emerald green, I jumped at the chance to review one.
I already knew it would be beautiful, but honestly, until it was home and in my hands, I had no idea of it’s real beauty. The colour of mine is gorgeous, it’s Mermaidial (no, that’s not an actual word, but it should be, so from here on in, it is!) as it shimmers tones of oceanic greens. Everything about it makes me think of water … it’s name, how it looks, the colour … there’s an old film called “Splash” about a Mermaid, so the name and colour combo is perfect!
As ever with Tantus silicone dildos, it’s made from their 100% ultra premium silicone, so it’s able to be boiled, cleaned with a bleach solution, or put through the dishwasher. This means you always have peace of mind that it can be completely sterilised between uses, and you know that it will last you for many years (if not forever!) if it’s looked after. It’s a mixture of glossy and matte silicone, which has some flexibility to it, and it’s harness compatible and because of the flared base, it’s totally anal safe too – although I wouldn’t recommend the Splash to an anal beginner, it’s bigger than it looks! It’s not suitable for use with the Suction Cup, which is a shame, as I would’ve loved it to be.
Talking of size, the Splash measures approximately 6.5 inches in insertable length, and is 1.75 inches in diameter, and about 5.5 inches in circumference at the largest point. It certainly feels like a larger toy in use, most likely down to the curve and shape of the shaft. The texture on the Splash is stunning. I love how the liquid looking silicone, that’s cascading over the head and down the shaft is glossy, and the areas between, along with the base, are a matte finish, which feels very slightly textured to the touch. This lets the light play over the toy differently, and really brings out those shimmery colours. If it didn’t attract dust like a moth to a flame, I’d display this dildo for sure, because it deserves to be looked at!
The first time I tried to use the Splash I was a little bit disappointed. I found it uncomfortable as the larger head pushed inside me and almost hooked itself into place, making withdrawal a little on the ouchy side too. Thankfully, further adventures have been much more successful, and I think that the first failed attempt was due to my eagerness and inability to be patient! I’ve found that I need to make sure that I’m fully aroused to receive the Splash, and when I am, my body is fully accepting of it and revels in the delights it has to offer! I also need to use plenty of lube (water based!), not only for personal comfort, but to combat the tiny bit of drag from the silicone.
I love highly textured dildos, and I was so excited by the glorious texture on the Splash, but it doesn’t give me what I thought it would. That’s not to say that it’s not amazing, because it is, but it’s not as distinct as I was expecting. I think that’s largely down to the texture going down the shaft vertically, rather than crossing it horizontally. It doesn’t ‘pop’ as it enters or exits your body, like perhaps the Echo does, and I have a hard job trying to differentiate between the different parts of the texture on the dildo as I’m using it, but collectively I love how it feels, so I’m not going to give myself a headache trying to over analyse it!
The Splash is really excellent for stimulating my G-Spot too, the head is really quite firm, and the angle is great for allowing pressure to be applied right where I need it. I think the ridges on the head assist this too, adding more surface stimulation to the area – It’s amazing!
I think if you like larger or slightly more challenging dildos, then the Splash could definitely be for you. Although it’s by no means huge, the angle of the shaft and the shape of the head makes it seem larger. If you’re wanting to get more into textured dildos, then again, this is superb. It looks stunning with the fluid looking silicone, but it feels less overwhelming than you might think, so it’s perfect if you want to dip your toes in, and test the textured water!
The Splash is most definitely a Water dildo, I just need Earth, Air and Fire now 🙂
Massive thanks to Tantus for sending me the Splash for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This does not alter my thoughts or opinions in any way. If you want to ‘Splash’ out for yourself, you can pick one up here, and remember to check out the Grab Bag section for some truly stunning silicone master pieces. Tantus, you Rock!
