Tantus Echo Review
By Carnal Queen.
Ok, I’ll be honest, I didn’t want to put the Tantus Echo anywhere near my vagina. Not because it looks scary, or because I didn’t like the look of it, but because it’s bloody gorgeous! Far too pretty to be rammed in and out of my vagina, but hey, that’s my job, so I got over myself, stopped staring at its pearly white magnificence, and got on with the task in hand …
Talking of pearly white – I absolutely adore this colour, it’s so pretty and delicate. It shimmers in the light, like it’s been kissed by a thousand fairy lips … too much? Well you get the idea! It also feels pretty good too. It’s Tantus, so it’s obviously made to an incredibly high standard from their own, unique blend of 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone. Many of you will know, you can do pretty much anything to this silicone and it takes it, bleach it, boil it, wash it in the dishwasher (just remember not to empty your dishwasher when you have guests over, they may be a little surprised to see a silicone dildo appear from amongst the pots and pans!) it’s totally hypo-allergenic and generally awesome! The finish to the Echo is slightly glossy, and because of this, you’re going to find it a little draggy on the skin, but that’s nothing that a generous lathering of water based lube won’t fix! Just be sure to use water based lube and not silicone, as unlikely as it is, you don’t want to risk your toy melting into a heap if it reacts, if you’re like me, you’d cry if that happened! The dildo has some squish-ability but isn’t overly soft, equally, it’s not too hard either, for me it’s perfect … just call me Goldilocks!
I’m not a huge fan of realistic dildos, but the Echo really does visually appeal to me. The head has an undeniable resemblance to a cock, but the shaft is somewhat space-age in it’s looks. The four undulating ridges down its length look tempting and beckon for you to climb on board. With 6.5 inches of insertable length and a circumference of around 5 inches, the Echo isn’t perhaps aimed at a dildo beginner, but it’s also not going to make anybody’s eyes water in fright. If you’re not a lover of extreme textures, then the Echo isn’t going to be for you, there’s no hiding from those delectable ridges, and I personally wouldn’t want to!
In use, they produce a sensation that’s almost like popping. A slow thrust really defines this, and you can feel every ridge as your vagina stretches and relaxes to accommodate each one. Speeding up blurs this feeling, but it doesn’t mask the obvious texture that you’re feeling. I need to be significantly warmed up to be able to thrust fairly fast with the Echo, else I think I’d do myself an injury, but it’s easily taken and massively enjoyed …
The base of the Echo makes it completely harness compatible, which is great and opens up another avenue for you to explore with the toy. It’s also 100% compatible with the Tantus Suction Cup, again allowing you to take the Echo to another level of play. I’ve yet to get hold of a Suction Cup, but when I do, I think the Echo will be first on the list to be put through it’s paces, because I think being able to ride this texture will be amazing!
If you’re looking at the Echo and thinking that it’s a vibrator, you’re a little off the mark. True, it comes with a bullet, and it does vibrate, but if you’re thinking it may be comparable to your favourite vibe, think again. There’s a whole lot of silicone for those bullet vibrations to travel through, and yeah, being able to feel vibrations does add to the experience, but it’s really not going to rock your world. The Tantus bullet is ok, but personally I’m always going to swap it out for my We-Vibe Tango, because it’s more powerful and rumbly, so the vibrations naturally travel up to the head of the dildo better than with the supplied bullet. For me though, it’s all about the texture with this toy, and it’s pleasurable enough on it’s own without vibrations anyway!
It’s a little thing, but Tantus have even made the hole for the bullet better by giving it a texture on the inside. This makes removal so much easier, because it doesn’t create such a strong vacuum like it would with a smooth hole. Simple, but effective! You can also use the Echo anally thanks to its flared base, but be warned, taking the Echo in the ass is not for the faint-hearted, those ridges are immense!
I really do like the Tantus Echo, and if you love highly textured, intense dildos, I think you’ll love it too!
Tantus very kindly sent me the Echo for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, this does not alter my thoughts or experiences, and all opinions are my own.
