Svakom Siime Eye Review
By Carnal Queen.
I never thought I’d be sitting here one day writing about a vibrator with a tiny, high detail camera in the end of it, but that’s exactly what the Svakom Siime Eye is, a sex toy with the ability to show you your own inner depths. I’ll grant you, it’s a little bit odd, not so much what it can show you, or why you’d want that, but more because it’s only been about 15 years since the first mobile phones with cameras came out, so how the heck have they got this technology in a sex toy?!
I’ve been super intrigued about the Siime Eye since Svakom launched the first version of it, the Siime. This newer version is a different shape, and offers the user more options when it comes to viewing the camera content, and connectivity. But is the Siime Eye just a gimmick? Or is the ‘gash cam’ going to open up a whole new world of sexy selfie possibilities for me? I guess there’s only one way to find out …
I’m really impressed with how Svakom present their products, as with the Emma wand, the Siime Eye arrives elegantly boxed, with the manual, warranty card, charging cable and branded storage bag enclosed. The charging port is covered with a little removable silicone tab, and they even provide you with a spare, in case it gets lost.
Can I just say ‘Meh’, and be done with it? No? Ok, I’ll give you a bit more than that.
The Siime Eye is a 6 vibration mode toy, that’s fully waterproof, rechargeable, quiet, and totally body-safe. It’s covered in lovely soft silicone, has a battery indicator check light, and features Svakom’s Intelligent Mode, for a session designed to simulate the build up you experience during sex, before you reach orgasm.
A two hour charge has given me 60-120 minutes of use, depending on the settings etc. It has just over a 3 inch circumference on the shaft, so it’s quite a modest size, and being long and thin, would be suited to someone new to vibrators.
So why did I say it’s ‘Meh’? Well, I don’t really believe anybody will treat this as an ordinary sex toy. Yes, it works as one, the vibrations aren’t all that bad either, although they are probably mostly on the buzzier side. The fact it has a flat end where the camera lens is, means you’ll be using the shaft sides for clit stim, and internally, it needs more girth to go with the vibrations. I found it works nicely as a little tease, before cracking on with the camera play, but as a vibrator alone, I’d pick up something else to use.
The Siime Eye As a Gash Cam
If you’re reading this review, I’m guessing it’s the camera part that’s intriguing you. Let me just say now, you’ll be seeing no pictures of my inner depths! I understand that a lot of people wouldn’t want to see that, and I’ll be honest, I don’t really want to see it rammed in my face every time I go on my website either, so nope! You’re safe, I’m not going to make your eyes bleed …
The Siime Eye has a 0.3 megapixel and four LED’s built into it, so you can explore your body’s in greater depth, literally. 0.3 megapixels might not sound a lot in this day and age, but the camera is of a really surprising quality. You connect to the camera via its own WIFI network, and you can then view what the camera is seeing, take pictures or videos, and across multiple devices too.
We’ve been using it with our iPhones, and connection is very simple. Once you’ve downloaded the free app from the app store, you simply switch the LED light on, which puts the Siime Eye into discoverable mode, then select if from the list of devices on your WIFI list. Then a quick click of a button in the app, and you’re viewing live footage from the camera.
It’s obviously a close-up camera, and it captures fine detail really well when used correctly. When you pull away, the image blurs, as can be seen here on my glamorous assistant …
Used internally, is a little hit and miss, in the sense that obviously any bodily fluids coat the lens, and make it hard to see. Because it’s slender, I tend to not use lube, which helps a little, but things certainly do get a little hard to decipher. Using a clear vaginal speculum helps loads. The moisture and everything else is held back, behind the clear plastic, so you can get a much clearer view of your cervix and what’s going on when you reach orgasm. You do get a little reflection from the LED light’s though, so there’s still a bit of this going on — ’Ooh, what’s that ..?” *twists head, strains eyes* “Oh, yes, I can see what I’m looking at now …”
We’ve had it drop the wireless connection a couple of times in use, which can be frustrating, but it’s easily connected back up again. The range is 30 metres, so it easily covers the home environment well. I can get CK to connect, and can be filming in another room. Playing “Guess what you’re looking at” is actually a really good laugh! It’s amazing how some normal body parts and joints can look raunchy when you get close-up on them! And because I can connect to it at the same time, I can see what he’s seeing, to make sure I get the shot right. You have to remember to keep it button side up, else you end up with bits hanging upside down. Gravity is already my enemy, without giving it a helping hand.
Bottom line? The Svakom Siime Eye is a lot of fun. It would be great for anyone with an interest in medical fetishes, and it’s a fab little device for also keeping a check of what’s going on down there, from a health point of view. I’d recommend the use of a clear speculum, but I understand that some women may not find that altogether sexy! It’s easy to use, can be used as a nice, teasing build up to play, or a full blown vibrator if the shape does it for you. There are a million other applications for the Siime Eye too, don’t just think gash cam and nothing else!
Holding it close whilst having sex gives you a different view of your carnal couplings. The camera is great for checking other orifices out too, ears, nose etc. No idea why, but you might want to! We’ve used to it check the ears of our stroppy cat, she’s not bothered by this sitting close to her ear, and we can check she’s all clean down there without upsetting her! The dog’s ears work well too. Got a spot on your back that you can’t quite see? Siime Eye it, to find out if it’s ready to pop! (gross!) Loads of things to use it for, just think outside your box ….
Pros
Great for exploratory fun
High quality macro camera
Easy to use
Cons
Buzzier vibrations
Not a great shape for a vibrator
Goo can limit what you see internally
