Happy Rabbit Ears Review
By Carnal Queen.
Rabbit vibrators are notoriously difficult to match with a persons anatomy. If they fit you and hit all the right spots, then awesome, but they can often leave you frustrated and needing more direct stimulation. Over the years they’ve been very hit and miss for me, along the way I’ve found some I hated, and some I really did enjoy. Clit arms that fall short of my clit, as was the case with the Lelo Ina Wave, and clit arms that go too far past my clit, which was the story with the Happy Rabbit 2 from Lovehoney. Despite this, the Happy Rabbit 2 still continues to take top spot in my Rabbit Run, because the vibrations feel amazing, and I do get enough stimulation from the clit arm as it passes over my sweet spot. So, when Lovehoney launched the ‘Just Ears’ vibe as part of the Happy Rabbit range, I wanted to get my teeth into one, to see if it was just as good as the ears on the toy it’s creation was inspired by …
Made from smooth neon pink silicone, these USB rechargeable, fully waterproof ears fit within the Happy Rabbit range perfectly. Sporting 12 functions (3 speeds, 9 patterns), there’s probably a setting that most people will enjoy. Everything is controlled by the silicone push button, which is fairly easy to press in use. Being 8 inches long, the ears are comfortable and feel secure in the hand, no fear of them slipping from you when you’re lost in the moment! They’re also fairly quiet, they’re not the quietest clit toy I own, but they’re definitely at a more than acceptable noise level in my opinion, although that’s a personal thing, volume preferences differ for everyone. They are virtually identical in size and shape to the ears part of the Happy Rabbit 2.
These ears do pack some punch, they veer towards the rumbly side of the vibrations scale, which is how I like my vibrations, because buzzy sucks. The vibrations are focused in the head and ears, so your hands don’t go numb from being vibrated relentlessly. They do their job really well for me and I do really like them, but they’re not without their flaws. If you were hoping they’d effectively just be the ears from the Happy Rabbit 2, you’ll be a little disappointed, because they’re just not that powerful. You can see from my video, the Happy Rabbit 2 clearly has a stronger vibration on the highest constant speed, and when you watch the video in slow motion, you can see the physical movement of the Happy Rabbit 2 ears is far more extreme than just the ears. This difference translates to the body with ease when in use, you can really feel the movement from the vibrations with the Rabbit. In this video, the shaft part of the Rabbit was not turned on at all.
I’m also not a huge fan of that seam that runs around the base of the head. I’m confident that with a bit of pressure I could separate the head from the body completely, which makes me wonder how these ears will last long term. If there needed to be an area where the insides could be accessed during manufacture, it’s a shame they didn’t choose to put this at the non-business end. A sealed base area would’ve been so much better.
They are great fun though, and it’s good to be able to put the ears exactly where you want them, without a shaft getting in the way! I love that they’re waterproof, you get a decent play session from a full charge (about an hour) and they do feel very good. I like to double them up with one of my favourite dildos. They also work really well as a nipple toy (feels amazeballs!) and for perineum and cock stimulation on CK, he loves it. An all round, versatile toy, Happy Rabbit Ears are for life, not just for Clitmas! (Sorry!)
