FSOG Wickedly Tempting Review
By Carnal Queen.
I absolutely love the idea behind these little vibrators, they’re powerful (more on that later), they’re compact so can be thrown into the bottom of a bag with ease, and they’re USB rechargeable. Lots of toys are heading down the USB rechargeable route, and I think it’s brilliant – Bye bye bulky plugs, you just need the cable to charge, which plugs into your laptop or as in my case, the plug I use to charge my iPhone, brilliant! This little toy goes one step further though, because you don’t need any cables to charge it, as it has its own inbuilt USB underneath the end cap, making it super discreet even when charging. The packaging this arrives in is typical with the whole FSOG range, dark, sleek and rather lovely. One thing to note is that the packaging does state that the vibrator comes with a charging cable, it doesn’t, but as previously mentioned, you don’t actually need one!
My unit arrived with some charge, but I gave it the one hour recommended charge anyway (I’m generous like that). The majority of rechargeable toys tend to require more charging (in hours) than they output in use, this little beauty is the exception, because 60 minutes of charging time will give you 90 minutes of play time, which is great in my opinion, it’s nice to get out more than you put in! The controls may take a couple of minutes to get your head around, but once you understand how they work they’re nice and simple to use. With a press of the plus button it turns on in constant vibration mode, with further quick presses of the plus button it increases in speed, I counted 13 levels of intensity on this setting. Pressing and holding the plus button will switch the unit into the pattern mode, and further presses of the plus button will let you switch through the 5 patterns to find one you like. Before switching into pattern mode though, the vibrator will fire up to full power in the constant vibration mode, which is worth remembering if you don’t like that full speed setting – remember to do it away from the body or you might get more than you bargained for. A press of the minus button will exit the pattern mode and take you back to constant speed, and a long press will power down the unit and turn it off – I say power down because it doesn’t just turn off, it slides back down the power scale to the lowest intensity before turning off, a little weird but you get used to it.
I think it’s inevitable that the Fifty Shades of Grey Wickedly Tempting Rechargeable Clitoral Vibrator will be compared to the Lelo Mia vibrator because they are incredibly similar, in size, charging method and features. My Mia hadn’t seen the light of day for a long time, because to be honest it never wowed me in use. I dug it out though (and I mean dug, it was at the bottom of a box of rarely used toys) and charged the unit so I could compare them side by side. There’s no denying that both vibrators are powerful, and the vibrations offered are deep, rumbly, and not at all buzzy, which is great because buzzy vibrations aren’t generally my thing. If I had to pick the most powerful I would say that the Lelo Mia definitely takes the prize, but there isn’t much in it. I found that the FSOG unit strangely seemed to have slightly more power about an inch down the shaft from the tip, and whilst it’s definitely very powerful and capable of making me achieve orgasm, the tip does tend to diffuse the vibrations over the whole of the top of the toy, and I would prefer it to be more pinpoint stimulation, because it can be quite frustrating. The Mia does diffuse the vibrations too, but not quite so much.
All in all, I think the FSOG rechargeable clitoral vibrator is a great toy, and the ability to charge it in so many different places (heck I can even charge it in my car stereo!) makes it a winner for orgasms on the go. I love the discretion, the fact that it’s waterproof, the range of vibration strength it offers to please most people, and the fact that being a small compact vibe means it can be used to stimulate my partner too, during masturbation, blow jobs and even sex. It’s incredibly quiet during use, even on the high settings, which make it great for play in shared houses, or even for risky play when out and about. If the colour isn’t an issue for you, I’d definitely go for the Lovehoney branded version, because it’s the same unit in a lovely (read hideous) shade of pink, giving you a little extra to spend on something else, but for me, the black version is a winner. It’s also made me revisit my Lelo Mia, something which I wouldn’t of otherwise done – I’m surprised that I like that so much more now than when I first had it, it’s amazing how your opinions and tastes can change. So now I have two USB rechargeable clitoral vibrators, one for home and one for away! Ooh I can be so greedy …
Lovehoney sent me this toy for free, in exchange for an honest and impartial review – this in no way affected my thoughts, and all opinions are my own. Affiliate links were used in this post.
